The APPG which is holding a committee of inquiry into outstanding grievances on the part of retired Gurkhas is now going to be holding oral evidence sessions to hear evidence from interested parties, following on from receiving written evidence.
The chair of the APPG and the Inquiry, Jackie Doyle-Price said “I am pleased to be holding oral evidence sessions. These sessions will give the opportunity for the Gurkhas to put forward their case to interested Members of Parliament and for us to get more understanding of their outstanding grievances.
I have already a considerable amount of written evidence from Gurkha representatives and their supporters.
I am also receiving written evidence from Government Ministers. I hope the oral hearings will enhance and consolidate the evidence already received and I hope that many MPs will get involved.”
